Internet Phishing (Catching the big fish too)

Definition:

The use of fraudulent emails and websites to gain personal data for malicious use.
Information collected could be usernames, passwords and credit card details.
Over 50% of all internet users have visited a spoofed website and of that about 20% have
been tricked into entering their details into forged websites.

Phishing is common on the internet and a large amount of SPAM emails contain forged
Websites in order to get the user to enter their details.

Typical emails contain;

“We suspect unauthorised access on your account, and now require you to click the following
link to confirm your identity. If you do not login within 24hours we will disable your
account”

“Recently we ran a verification check across our system and your account was flagged,
could you please click the link below and enter your details to confirm your identity.”

Most emails claim that they are financial institutes, internet providers or other trusted
companies where cyber criminals could gain data or financial rewards.

There are a number of steps that users should follow in order to help protect themselves;

a:  Normally banks do not send emails, let alone alert everyone to breaches.
b:  Do not use links inside of emails to login to trusted organisations.
c:  Make sure your antivirus software is updated and includes a SPAM filter.
d:  Delete emails that seem suspicious, install a junk email system.
e:  If your bank requires information to be updated you should do this over the phone.
f:  The bank shouldn’t ring you; you should ring the bank or visit your local branch to
    discuss issues.
g:  Do not fill out forms inside of emails.
h:  Make sure that when you access your banks website it has https:// not http://
i:  If you use web banking, login regularly. Your bank should show you when you last logged
    in.
j:  If you think you have fallen victim to a phishing attack, call your bank and explain
that you have entered your details into a fraudulent website and have them change your
    password.

Sothink Web Video Downloader – Geek Review

So you need something to download all those videos you find on the internet.

You cant go past Sothink Web Video Downloader, with this nifty program you can capture
all the videos you see or watch, encode them to another format and save them to watch later.

GET YOUR COPY TODAY
http://www.sothinkmedia.com/web-video-downloader/

* Download the 12.8MB zip file
* Unzip the setup.exe file and Double Click to start the installation
* Click <NEXT> <I ACCEPT> <NEXT> <NEXT> <NEXT> <NEXT> <NEXT> <INSTALL> <FINISH>

* All achieved in under 60 seconds of technoluscious goodness.

As soon as Sothink Web Video Downloader opens it presents you with a simple crisp clean
interface awaiting your command. With the program running either in full mode or minimised
you can browse through your favourite video website, like Youtube. You will recieve alerts on
the right hand side of your screen as you view new videos. Click on a notification and it will be
downloaded and then encoded to your desired format. This couldnt be easier.

It actually makes it hard to write a review when it is so easy to do.

Once the video has been downloaded and converted, another notification that it has finished downloading.

If you have the program minimised a simple double click on the icon brings the interface up so you can
preveiw or organise your downloaded videos. The top left section shows which files are being
downloading and which are complete, the top right section lists which videos are in each section.

The bottom left section shows the video preveiw with very easy controls, while the bottom right section
shows much information about the downloaded video.

You can capture your videos within a variety of internet browsers, inluding Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Opera and Maxthon. The format of the videos can be flv, wmv, mov, mp4, m4v, 3gp, 3g2, rm, rmvb,
avi, mpg, mpeg and swf files.

Overall this is a brilliant simple program which allows you to capture a vast array of videos from the
Internet which would otherwise be so had to achieve.

Sothink Video Converter Review

Thats right everyone, I just got my hands onto the latest version of ”Sothink Video Convertor

I took my vanilla XP computer as a test bench, downloaded Sothink Video Convertor about 20 megabytes from http://www.sothinkmedia.com/video-converter/
Once the download was finished, I unzipped the files to a folder and double click the installer followed by the normal next, accept, next, next, next, next, next & Finish.

That is it if you only want to use the FREE VERSION. If you choose to go with the PRO VERSION (which I would have to highly recommend)…  IT IS ONLY $24.95 USD (about $23 AUD)

I copied over some test videos, Firstly I dragged an mp4 onto the convertor window and then selected wmv.  I hit CONVERT and 10 seconds later and it had converted the video. Awesome..
I then tryed converting to various other formats, it is so easy to convert any file format to another.

Sothink Video Convertor

Sothink Video Convertor would have to be one of the most comprehensive convertors I have used so far, It has the ability to encode into nearly every possible format.

Formats that it can encode to are; AVI, H264, AVC, MP4, WMV, ASF, MKV, MOV, MPG, 3GP, 3G2, VOB, DV, MP3, WMA, M4A, AAC, AC3, OGG, MKA, FLAC, WAV, AIF, AU, TS, SWF, FLV, JPG, PNG, BMP & GIF.

You can produce media for all of the following; High Definition, iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, Playstation 3, Xbox, Zune, Wii, Blackberry, Nokia, Android, Nexus, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola & Flash.

The interface is so easy to use, Add your media file, change the order to encode, select the output format and click convert. It really that simple. You can adjust how you show your listed media by details, thumbnails and even adjusting the size of thumbnails on your screen with a slider in the top right of the application window. You can preview your media by selecting it and using the controls in the bottom left of the application window.

Now I have tryed some free video convertors in the past but for some real grunt under the bonnet I would have to say you cant go past this brilliant product from Sothink.

Sothink Video Convertor is sure to get my vote, How about you head over and download your copy today at http://www.sothinkmedia.com/video-converter/ follow the links to VIDEO CONVERTOR.
